Son wounded in Tortosa shooting apprehended for chore-related fit

In a troubling turn of events, McCree N. Brass, a 24-year-old man from Tortosa, has become the defendant in a new case against his mother, eight months after she allegedly shot him at their family home. This latest incident unfolded early Wednesday morning when Maricopa Police arrested him on three charges related to preventing emergency phone use and disorderly conduct.
According to a probable cause statement, McCree’s mother, 49-year-old Pharisa Fe Brass, called 911 around 3:45 a.m. to report a disturbance, during which dispatchers noted sounds of conflict. The altercation reportedly began over McCree’s refusal to wash the dishes, escalating when he forcibly took his mother’s phone and sequestered himself in a bedroom.
The police indicated that McCree admitted to the misdemeanor crime, potentially facing over a year in jail if convicted. This incident marks a continuation of family turmoil as Maricopa authorities previously responded to the Brass household following a series of violent encounters involving Pharisa, including an incident where she allegedly kicked an officer during a traffic stop.
Moreover, Pharisa’s legal troubles extend to charges of aggravated assault and weapons misconduct related to the shooting incident involving her son. Her next court appearance is scheduled for February 3, as her previous hearings have been delayed. Additionally, on Friday, a Maricopa Municipal Court judge ruled against her for not appearing at a required hearing concerning a revoked license plate.
