'SNL' to close out its 50th season with Scarlett Johansson and Bad Bunny

NEW YORK — NBC has officially revealed the lineup for the final three episodes of “Saturday Night Live” as it wraps up its landmark 50th season. Scarlett Johansson will take the stage as host, while Bad Bunny is set to perform as the musical guest on May 17.

The upcoming finale is anticipated for its beloved Weekend Update segment, featuring cast members Michael Che and Colin Jost, who often trade jokes about each other. Notably, many of these jokes revolve around Johansson, who happens to be Jost’s wife.

The series will kick off its final trio of episodes on May 3, when Quinta Brunson, creator of “Abbott Elementary,” takes the reins as host, alongside musician Benson Boone. On May 10, Walton Goggins, recognized for his roles in “The White Lotus” and “The Righteous Gemstones,” will host, with Arcade Fire returning for their sixth appearance as musical guest after an 18-year hiatus from the show.

The “SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration,” which aired live in February, showcased the show’s lasting impact on comedy. Iconic alumni such as Eddie Murphy, Kristen Wiig, and Will Ferrell graced the stage during its early years, solidifying their careers.

The anniversary episode also saw legendary cameos from stars like Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, and Keith Richards, among others. Other well-known figures, including Kim Kardashian, Robert De Niro, and Pedro Pascal, added to the star-studded tribute to the show’s 50-year legacy.
