How many medals does Simone Biles have? She just made history AGAIN.

Simone Biles has officially surpassed another American gymnastics icon in the record books.

PARIS, France — Simone Biles has etched her name in the gymnastics record books yet again.

Biles won her eighth Olympic medal Tuesday in the women’s team final, breaking her tie with Shannon Miller to become the most decorated American Olympic gymnast of all time.

Last October, Biles secured the title of the most decorated gymnast in history when she won her 27th world championship medal.

Biles, widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time, now has eight Olympic medals, including five gold medals across her three Summer Games appearances and could still add even more.

She made her debut in Rio and won four gold medals, including team and individual all-around, and one bronze.

Biles returned for the Tokyo Olympics, where she won silver in the team competition and bronze on the balance beam. She was supposed to compete in even more finals in Tokyo but had to withdraw because of a phenomenon known as the “twisties.”

The 27-year-old is scheduled to compete in four more events: the women’s all-around, vault, balance beam, and floor exercise. This could increase her medal tally, further cementing her legacy.

If she secures first in two more events in Paris, she will join the ranks of Americans with the most gold medals at the Summer Olympics.

Currently, Jenny Thompson holds the record with eight gold medals; Biles would need three more to match this achievement.

The overall Olympic gymnastics record belongs to Larisa Latynina, who competed for the Soviet Union, winning 18 medals across three Olympics.
