Simone Biles’ Paris Olympics Earnings Revealed: A Stellar Payday

PARIS, France — American gymnastics sensation Simone Biles is set to leave Paris with four additional Olympic medals and a significant financial reward.
Biles led Team USA to gold in the women’s gymnastics team event. She also clinched the individual all-around title and the vault final, before adding a silver medal in the floor exercise.
These accomplishments in Paris bring the 27-year-old’s Olympic medal count to 11. The United States, unlike some countries, offers financial bonuses for medal wins at the Olympics. In Tokyo, U.S. athletes earned $37,500 for each gold, $22,500 for each silver, and $15,000 for each bronze medal.
Based on these figures, Biles will receive a bonus of $135,000 for her performances in Paris. While this sum is noteworthy, it is modest compared to the $7.1 million she earned in 2023, primarily through endorsements, according to Forbes.
As for her future, Biles remains noncommittal about retirement. She hinted at the possibility of competing in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, stating, “Never say never. Next Olympics are at home. So you just never know. I am getting really old.”
Her recent achievements place her in elite company. Biles now has 11 career Olympic medals, tying with Czechoslovakia’s Vera Caslavska for the second-most medals by a female gymnast in history. She trails only the former Soviet Union’s Larisa Latynina, who has 18.
