Shooting Incident Rocks Maricopa Meadows: One Person Injured

Maricopa police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Dancer Lane in the Maricopa Meadows community on November 22, 2024. The situation has prompted significant police presence in the area.

As of 10:35 p.m., it has been confirmed by MPD spokesperson Monica Williams that an individual has sustained a gunshot wound. “As the investigations continue, it has been determined the injury sustained was a gunshot wound,” she stated, reassuring the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Earlier, at around 10:12 p.m., the Maricopa Police Department’s crime scene unit arrived at the location to assist with the investigation. The crime scene has since been expanded to include West Dirk Street, which is currently closed at its intersection with Dancer Lane.

Initial reports indicate that police were dispatched to the 45000 block of W Dirk Street just before 7:15 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the injured individual, who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the injury, at this stage, remains unclear.

As of 9:10 p.m., Dancer Lane has been closed between West Dirk Street and West Guilder Avenue as part of the ongoing investigation. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
