Shooting in west Phoenix leaves father dead, daughter in jail, police say


PHOENIX — A shooting incident in west Phoenix has led to the death of 61-year-old Reginald Anderson. His daughter, 33-year-old Reilan Anderson, is the primary suspect, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Authorities responded to the scene near 99th Avenue and Camelback Road on Thursday, finding Anderson with critical injuries. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the location.

Witnesses at the scene pointed to Reilan Anderson’s involvement. Following the incident, she was located in Maricopa and taken into custody. During questioning, she denied any participation in the shooting.

Reilan has been booked on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault concerning another woman at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, but police do not anticipate seeking additional suspects at this time.
