Sheriff Probes Saturday Night Gunfire Incident in Stanfield

Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place in Stanfield on the evening of April 1, 2025. According to PCSO spokesperson Sam Salzwedel, deputies received reports of gunfire near the intersection of State Route 84 and Stanfield Road around 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies found no victim at the scene. However, they discovered cartridge casings that are believed to be linked to the shooting. The casings were located near the town’s busiest intersection, situated just south of Maricopa, which has a population of 338.
This particular area is a frequented spot, home to essential services such as the post office, a laundromat, and El Rancho Barajas, a well-known restaurant and market.
Salzwedel emphasized that deputies are actively pursuing leads to identify the potential victim involved in the incident.
