Storms forecasted for Lake Havasu City area; isolated flash flooding and gusty winds possible


The National Weather Service (NWS) has released a storm forecast for Lake Havasu City today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by the afternoon.

The activity could persist from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a 27% chance of storms directly impacting Lake Havasu City. Neighboring Kingman faces a significantly higher 59% probability of storm activity.

Isolated flash flooding and gusty outflow winds are potential hazards, especially in low-lying regions. Frequent lightning may also occur during these storms, posing additional risks.

Monsoon activity is intensifying, particularly in the eastern half of the forecast area. The NWS has highlighted isolated flash flooding and gusty winds as primary concerns.

Local authorities are advising residents to secure loose outdoor items and remain cautious when driving in flood-prone areas. This storm system is part of the ongoing monsoon season that has recently affected the region.
