Sentencing scheduled for woman arrested with 496 fentanyl pills

Judge Billy Sipe is set to impose a significant sentence on Malinda Felix, a 46-year-old woman from Lake Havasu City, following her arrest for drug-related offenses during a traffic stop. The incident occurred on August 15, around 4:47 a.m., in the 1000 block of Acoma Blvd. S.

Deputy Rod Albright from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office reported that a police K-9 indicated the presence of drugs in Felix’s vehicle, leading to a search. The search uncovered approximately 460 pills laced with fentanyl in her purse.

Felix pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted transportation of narcotic drugs for sale. Albright stated that the quantity of pills found is more indicative of distribution rather than personal use.

Felix now faces a range of sentencing options, from probation to a maximum of 30 months in prison. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 15.
