Semi Truck Loses Control, Crashes Off Roadway

Maricopa, AZ — A semitruck ended up in a grassy area along State Route 238 after another vehicle reportedly cut in front of it. The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on February 20, 2025, prompting a swift response from local police and fire crews.

According to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams, the truck veered off the road to avoid a collision with the car. “The truck ended up off the roadway into some landscaping,” Williams explained.

At the scene, reporters noted that the semitruck was disabled and partially lodged in the greenbelt. An officer on-site indicated that the truck had sustained a broken axle, complicating the removal process.

“The roadway will be impacted for some time as they work to get the semi back on the roadway and towed away,” Williams stated. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
