Scorching Heat and Storm Threats Kick Off the Week

PHOENIX — The northwest Valley experienced significant rainfall on Sunday, with Sun City, Surprise, and Peoria accumulating nearly 0.24″ of rain.
Monday morning began quietly, but isolated storms are expected in the Valley by afternoon and evening. These storms bring risks of blowing wind, dust, and rain.
Northern and eastern Arizona face the highest storm risks on Monday. Potential hazards include strong wind gusts, localized flash flooding, and hail. This pattern of stronger storm chances continues daily through Friday in these regions.
The Valley will see isolated to scattered storm chances persisting until at least Saturday.
