School’s Out: Local Camps Step Up for Summer Fun!

The Sedona community is gearing up for summer with a variety of youth camps now available for registration as of May 1. Numerous local organizations are contributing to the lineup, offering activities that cater to diverse interests.

Parks and Recreation

Among the offerings, the Nike Pickleball Camp introduces a program for ages 8 to 16 scheduled for June 10-12 and June 24-26. The registration fee is $255, which includes a camp shirt.

The Prana Beans Yoga Camp welcomes children aged 5 to 9 from July 7 to 11, focusing on yoga through engaging themes. Registration costs $150, and participants should bring a water bottle and snack.

Additionally, the Minecraft Masters camp, targeting undisclosed age groups, occurs from May 27 to 30. Here, kids can enhance their coding skills for a fee of $160.

Another option is the STEM Camp for ages 5 to 8, running from June 30 to July 3 at a cost of $160. Each day explores a different theme in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

For budding artists, the Science Vortex Arts & Crafts Camp, designed for ages 5 to 8, is set for July 7 to 11 with a registration fee of $195. Youngsters will learn to create yarn projects and watercolor techniques.

The Challenger Soccer Camp caters to ages 3 to 12 across several sessions in June, emphasizing skill development using British training methods. Registration fees range from $100 to $220.

The Sedona Mountain Bike Academy targets ages 8 to 13 from June 9 to 13, focusing on skill development and trail riding for $345.

New this year, the KEEP Martial Arts Summer Camp, for ages 6 to 17, runs from June 2 to 6 and June 16 to 20. Registration is $180 for the week, featuring Brazilian jiu-jitsu lessons and team-building activities.

The KEEP Sports Camp, also new, serves ages 7 to 14 from July 14 to 25, costing $180 per week. Participants engage in multiple sports, fostering teamwork and athletic skill.

Another highlight is the Missoula Children’s Theatre program for children in first grade through high school seniors. From July 21 to 26, participants will practice for the play “The Snow Queen,” which culminates in performances on July 26.

For those interested in law enforcement and firefighting, the First Responder Camp allows kids aged 7 to 15 to engage with local emergency services from July 28 to 31 for $50.

The Youth Basketball Camp caters to children from kindergarten through high school seniors from July 7 to 11, focusing on skill development and sportsmanship.

A Sacred Eagle Art Camp is also planned for July 14 to 18, with a $200 registration fee. Further details will be available soon.

Sedona Arts Center

Upcoming camps include the Bugs Rock! for ages 6 to 12 on May 27, where children create insect-inspired art. Registration is $35.

Also available is the Tie-Dye for Kids camp on May 29, where participants can craft colorful bandanas for $40.

For kids aged 8 to 14, the Lost & Found: Crafting With Nature workshop on June 30 costs $35, encouraging creativity through natural materials.

Clay-related camps are planned for creating various projects, including vases and picture frames at a fee of $50 each. The Watercolor and Ink Too camp invites kids aged 9 to 12 from July 14 to 18 to explore different artistic techniques for $200.

Community Library Sedona

The Summer Reading Program kicks off on May 21 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Community Library of Sedona with free ice cream and reading log pickups. An Astronomy Night will follow at 8 p.m., featuring local astronomers.

The closing party for the Summer Reading Celebration will be on July 30, offering free food and prizes.

Humane Society

The Kids & Kritters camp runs from June 9 to 13, June 23 to 27, and July 7 to 11 for ages 8 to 12, focusing on animal care and crafts. Registration is $275 and includes a camp T-shirt.

Race Pace Swim Club

The Race Pace competitive swim team welcomes kids ages 5 to 18 at the Sedona Community Pool. Skills training sessions run Monday through Thursday, culminating with a high school development program.

Sedona Camp Enrichment Program

The Sedona Camp at Sedona Charter School offers weekly programs from May 26 to June 27. Each week features unique themes, with registration costing $250 per child.

A free Vacation Bible School at Aletheia Church from July 21 to 24 will feature crafts, music, and daily activities from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Christ Lutheran Church is introducing its first summer day camp since the pandemic for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The camp will run from June 23 to 27 for $20 per child. Snacks and lunch will be provided.
