School board candidates turn in third quarter finance reports

Several candidates vying for positions on the Lake Havasu Unified School District board have submitted their third-quarter finance reports, which were due on Tuesday. This report period covers financial activities from July 1 to September 30.

Election regulations stipulate that candidates who either spend or receive $1,400 or more must file a statement of organization and adhere to campaign finance laws.

Of the seven candidates, four have reported their financial activities: Matthew Houston, Mike Kurn, David Rose, and Vijette Saari. Each candidate’s report provides insights into their fundraising efforts and expenditures.

Matthew Houston noted no new donations or expenses during this quarter, maintaining a balance of $521.28. To date, he has raised $2,150 and spent $1,628.72 throughout the campaign.

Mike Kurn has received total donations of $3,295.99, with $1,783.61 spent in the third quarter alone on printing and supplies, leaving him with $1,513.18.

David Rose reports total contributions of $8,111.31 and expenditures of $6,435.84 thus far. In the third quarter, he allocated $4,084.73 for radio ads, print advertisements, and tri-fold brochures, retaining $1,711.74.

Vijette Saari has gathered $2,097.39 in donations against $827.39 spent on yard signs and other items, leaving her with $1,270 in available funds.
