The New Roots Farm Stand showcases seasonal fruits and vegetables, promoting local agriculture.

Residents of North Central Phoenix have two excellent options for fresh produce this summer. The New Roots Farm Stand, located at 1616 W. Camelback Road, opens its doors on the third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. As temperatures rise, the market will adjust its hours to 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Managed by the International Rescue Committee, this farm stand features a variety of seasonal produce from local New Roots Phoenix farmers. Payment methods include cash, cards, and Double Up Food Bucks, which offer a 50% discount on produce for EBT card users.

Another option is the Uptown Farmers Market at North Phoenix Baptist Church, located at 5757 N. Central Ave. Starting in May, the market will operate exclusively on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Wednesday markets returning in the fall. This bustling market boasts over 90 vendors, offering a wide array of goods. Shoppers can find local fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, vegan options, and even pet supplies. Additionally, brunch and lunch selections, gardening items, art, and beverages are available, making it a vibrant community hub.
