Santa’s Arrival at Maricopa CAC: A Jolly Celebration Unfolds

The annual “Photos with Santa” event took place at the Central Arizona College (CAC) campus in Maricopa on November 27, 2024. Families gathered to share their Christmas wishes with the beloved holiday figure, creating a festive atmosphere.
This free event catered to all ages while encouraging attendees to donate non-perishable food items for Maricopa’s needy children. Donations also included toys for the Toys for Tots initiative, supported by the U.S. Marine Reserves, highlighting the community’s spirit of giving.
Attendees enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies, and fun activities, including the chance to color with Santa. In addition, CAC representatives provided insights into vocational courses aimed at assisting individuals in their career pursuits.
Safety was a focal point of the event as a Maricopa Police Department officer was present to educate young people on the dangers of impaired driving. Teens participated in a hands-on demonstration using “beer goggles” to simulate the effects of alcohol, followed by balance and coordination tests.
Additional vendors and CAC representatives showcased the various vocational programs available on campus, allowing attendees to explore educational and career opportunities. This event not only spread holiday cheer but also fostered community awareness and engagement in Maricopa.
