Authorities in Maricopa are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred during peak traffic hours. The incident took place this afternoon at the intersection of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road, drawing a swift response from police, fire, and medical units.

According to Phoenix regional dispatch, emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 6:22 p.m. Public safety spokeswoman Monica Williams provided an update around 7:10 p.m., stating, “There are two vehicles blocking the southbound lanes. Fire is currently on scene assessing any injuries.”

Witnesses reported the sighting of multiple ambulances leaving the area, raising concerns about the extent of injuries sustained. Williams later confirmed that minor injuries had been recorded but could not specify if anyone was transported to a hospital.

By 7:15 p.m., Williams indicated that one of the vehicles was being towed away, and the southbound lanes were expected to reopen shortly. Reports confirmed that the scene was cleared by 7:30 p.m.
