Ruben Gallego Surges Ahead of Kari Lake in Arizona Senate Battle; Paul Gosar and Others Shine Bright

In a significant development for Arizona’s political landscape, Congressman Ruben Gallego is currently outpacing Republican Kari Lake in the U.S. Senate race. As the vote tally continues, Gallego leads by more than 60,000 votes, with totals standing at 1,107,836 for Gallego compared to Lake’s 1,047,792.
In the House, Republican Paul Gosar is achieving a substantial victory against Democratic challenger Quacy Smith, securing over 66% of the vote, which translates to 176,168 votes against Smith’s 89,125.
The Republican Party has also made gains in state legislative positions within northwest Arizona. Leo Biasiucci and John Gillette have successfully won re-election, and Mohave County supervisor Hildy Angius is set to join them as the new state senator for District 30. Angius is notably defeating Democrat J’aime MorgAine with an impressive share of nearly 79%, amassing 75,345 votes compared to MorgAine’s 20,446.
Arizona voters have shown their support for reproductive rights, with Proposition 139—the measure for the fundamental right to abortion—passing with nearly 62% approval. The current tally stands at 132,449 in favor versus 818,414 opposed.
Conversely, Proposition 140, aimed at reforming the primary election system, has faced rejection from 59% of the electorate, with results counting 1,215,932 no votes against 843,349 yes votes.
