RTA open houses for public review of $2.46B draft transportation plan

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is set to engage the public with a series of open houses in December and January regarding a significant 20-year, $2.46 billion plan aimed at regional transportation advancements.

These sessions invite Pima County residents to review and offer feedback on a draft plan that encompasses a wide array of improvements, including roadway upgrades, enhanced transit services, increased safety measures, accessibility initiatives, and reconstruction of high-traffic roads.

Funding for the proposed enhancements would come from a half-cent sales tax, contingent upon voter approval for an extension.

This week, two crucial sessions will take place:

Tuesday, Dec. 10
Valencia Library
202 W. Valencia Rd.
Sign in from 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Program runs from 5 to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 11
Desert Sky Middle School
9850 E. Rankin Loop
Sign in from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
Program runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

For those unable to attend, a brief presentation will be available online, along with a survey in both English and Spanish to gather further community insights.
