RTA Announces Virtual Public Review for Groundbreaking $2.46B Transportation Blueprint

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is set to host a virtual presentation aimed at informing residents about a comprehensive $2.46 billion, 20-year draft plan designed for regional road improvements. Scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, January 6, this initiative aims to enhance public understanding and involvement.
This draft plan outlines significant investments across various areas, including transit, safety, active transportation, arterial reconstruction, and environmental projects. Key allocations within the plan are noteworthy: $1.44 billion for roadway corridors, $206.8 million dedicated to safety and active transportation, $610 million for transit initiatives, $25 million for environmental projects, and $20 million for arterial roadway reconstruction.
The RTA Board will consider public feedback before finalizing the plan for a future voter referendum, with an election tentatively scheduled for November 2025. This engagement is crucial for ensuring community needs are met and reflected in the final proposal.
