Road Rage Erupts in Gunfire: One Hospitalized After Shooting Incident

Investigators are delving into a road rage incident that left a black Lexus ES riddled with nine bullet holes on Bowlin Road on April 8, 2025.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves, the confrontation occurred shortly before 1 p.m., resulting in one individual being transported to a local hospital with injuries that remain unspecified.
Despite the car being located within Maricopa city limits, the Arizona Department of Public Safety is spearheading the investigation, as it is believed the events leading to the shooting took place outside of city jurisdiction. Maricopa police spokesperson Monica Williams confirmed this detail.
The Lexus was found on westbound Bowlin Road, positioned between Alterra Parkway and John Wayne Parkway. Notably, the crime scene is situated approximately 150 yards from Maricopa Elementary School and the Bungalows on Bowlin, where police presence intensified following the incident around 12:45 p.m.
Mishell Terry, spokesperson for the Maricopa Unified School District, stated that the school remained unaffected by the ongoing investigation.
By 2 p.m., emergency responders were stationed at the scene, including two Maricopa police units, three Department of Public Safety units, Maricopa Fire Ladder Tender 571, and an ambulance, which delivered a gurney for medical assistance.
A witness reported at 2:30 p.m. observing a male suspect in a black shirt being taken into custody, indicating the swift response by law enforcement.
