Rihanna reveals baby bump ahead of Met Gala

Rihanna made headlines at the Met Gala on Monday, where she revealed her pregnancy to the public. Her baby bump was prominently displayed, leading to speculation that had been circulating prior to the event.

As attendees gathered to celebrate fashion’s most anticipated night, Rihanna arrived at a hotel, captured by her personal photographer, Miles Diggs. His Instagram post showcased her baby bump, drawing attention before she hit the gala carpet.

On the red carpet, Rihanna wore an impressive pinstripe ensemble paired with a striking hat. A$AP Rocky, her partner and co-parent of two sons, served as one of the evening’s hosts alongside Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, and Coleman Domingo. He confirmed the pregnancy news moments before Rihanna’s appearance.

A$AP Rocky expressed his joy, telling reporters, “It feels amazing. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.” He emphasized the positivity surrounding their news, stating, “We’ve been seeing love for the most part.”

The gala’s theme celebrated Black designers, coinciding with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This marks the first Met Gala solely focused on Black artistry, as well as the first theme centered on menswear in over twenty years.

Rihanna is known for her unique ways of announcing her pregnancies. During her Super Bowl performance in February, she surprised fans by revealing her baby bump while wearing a fitted jumpsuit, a moment confirmed by her representative afterward.

The couple welcomed their first son, RZA Athelston Mayers, in May 2022, followed by their second son, Riot Rose Mayers, in August 2023.
