Rex Scott to Steer Pima County Board of Supervisors with New Chairmanship

Rex Scott has been elected as the new chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, a decision made during Tuesday’s meeting. With his election, Supervisor Adelita Grijalva will serve as vice chair.
The five-member board recently began their new terms following the elections in November. Notably, the selection of leadership for the four-year term proceeded without any public dissent during the morning session.
Scott requested to officially assume the chair position at the next meeting, while Grijalva will continue leading the first gathering of the year. Both supervisors began their tenure in 2020, having been elected to represent District 1 and District 5, respectively.
During this session, Supervisor Matt Heinz was absent. Nonetheless, the board voted 4-0 in favor of appointing Scott and Grijalva to their respective leadership roles. Additionally, the supervisors re-elected Melissa Manriquez as the clerk of the board, ensuring stability in the administrative functions of the board.
