Triangular self-storage proposed near Santa Rosa Springs

A new self-storage facility is on the horizon for approximately 8 acres of undeveloped land near Santa Rosa Springs in Maricopa. The project, submitted by local landowner and realtor Dayv Morgan, aims to utilize a site along Sonoran Desert Parkway, located between Santa Rosa Wash and Lunar Street.

Morgan’s proposal includes a request to amend the land use and zoning designation from general rural to light industrial. The preliminary site plan reveals a triangular parcel that has the potential to host up to 317 vehicles and two storage buildings. However, Morgan indicated that the emphasis may lean more towards self-storage compared to long-term vehicle storage.

“It’s kind of morphed over time, so for now we’re just going to take care of the zoning,” Morgan shared. He believes this facility could be the only self-storage option south of the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, emphasizing its significance for the community.

Having planned this project for several years, Morgan noted that the completion of the parkway and upcoming business developments prompted him to advance his proposal. “I’ve just had a few other projects that have taken priority. I think this is a good time to ramp things up and get the approval,” he remarked.

The proposed site is currently vacant, and if approved, the self-storage facility could enhance local services and support the area’s growth.
