Truth in Taxation Hearing – Notice of Tax Increase

Phoenix, AZ — The Madison Elementary School District has announced plans to raise its primary property taxes as part of its budget for the upcoming fiscal year, commencing July 1, 2025. This decision follows the stipulations outlined in §15-905.01 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. The proposed increase aims to cover heightened expenditures authorized by the Governing Board.

The district is looking to implement a $2,300,000 increase in its primary property tax levy. This translates to an estimated tax of $17.0968 on a $100,000 home. In contrast, without this tax increase, homeowners would not owe any property tax.

It is important to note that these proposed amounts exceed the qualifying tax levies as dictated by state law, if applicable. Additionally, the increase does not account for any shifts resulting from voter-approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

The public is encouraged to voice their opinions at a hearing regarding this proposed tax increase. This meeting is set for June 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM, located at 5601 N. 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
