Revealing the Delights of Victorian Dining: A Fascinating Lecture

The Square at Heritage and Science Park, previously known as Heritage Square, is set to host a free one-hour lecture focused on the intriguing dining customs of the 19th century. This event, titled “Oysters & Olive Spoons: Victorian Dining,” will take place on May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees will explore significant topics, such as the impact of the Industrial Revolution on food production, the reality of door-to-door ice delivery in 19th century Phoenix, and the curious dish known as mock turtle soup. The lecture will also feature a collection of dining items from the museum, offering an engaging experience for participants.
This lecture is part of the Summer Lecture Series at The Square. It is open to the public and will be held in the south classroom of the Lath House Pavilion, located at 113 N. Sixth St. in downtown Phoenix.
