Rep. Biggs Vows to Abolish Income Tax and Expedite Elections in Governor Campaign

U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs has announced his intention to eliminate income taxes, enhance border security, and support Republican initiatives previously vetoed by Governor Katie Hobbs, should he win the gubernatorial race. His ambitious plans were outlined during a recent campaign rally at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, which featured prominent Republican figures.
Among the attendees were Turning Point Founder Charlie Kirk and various Republican lawmakers, all rallying around Biggs’ vision. They expressed their solidarity with his potential administration and criticized Governor Hobbs alongside other Democratic leaders.
Kirk’s endorsement of Biggs could appeal to younger voters—a demographic that often aligns with Turning Point Action. This backing arrives as polls show Biggs trailing behind his Republican opponent, Karrin Taylor Robson. Political analysts emphasize that Kirk’s influence may help Biggs attract the younger, digitally engaged voters Kirk has mobilized.
During the rally, Biggs distinguished his campaign by highlighting his close relationship with former President Donald Trump, asserting the significance of his endorsement. He criticized Hobbs for vetoing critical border and election-related bills, pledging to sign them within his first week if elected.
Biggs pointed to the Arizona ICE Act, emphasizing its potential to strengthen law enforcement’s ability to collaborate with federal agencies on immigration enforcement. He reiterated his commitment to creating a dedicated border security task force to combat human and drug trafficking.
In contrast, Governor Hobbs has initiated her strategies against drug trafficking, including mobilizing the National Guard. However, Biggs argues her measures fall short of what is needed for effective border security.
He also aims to advance election integrity by pushing for expedited election results and criticized Hobbs for vetoing several impactful bills. “How many of you would like to know who won the election on the night of the election?” he asked, to enthusiastic approval from the crowd.
Addressing economic policy, Biggs advocates for the abolition of income tax, linking his tax plans to Trump’s broader fiscal strategy, which has garnered scrutiny for its potential impact on the national deficit. Biggs maintains that tax cuts are essential for fostering a prosperous Arizona.
“We want to be the most free, most prosperous, safest state in the union,” he declared, encapsulating his vision for Arizona’s future under his leadership.
