Relative Shot in Rancho Mirage: Thomas Crew’s Late-Night Incident Leaves Her in Critical Condition

The man accused of shooting a relative in Rancho Mirage has been identified as 46-year-old Thomas Crew. The incident occurred on Montserrat Street around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to police, the victim is anticipated to survive, though Maricopa Police Chief Mark Goodman indicated in an op-ed that the injury will have lasting effects on the victim’s life. Sources familiar with the situation suggest the victim was shot in the face, but this detail has not been confirmed by authorities.
Thomas Crew, a recent transplant from Southern California, has no known prior history of violence, based on court records from both California and Arizona. He currently holds a position as Operations Manager at Oscar Health in Maricopa, as indicated on his LinkedIn profile.
He faces multiple felony charges, with formal charges to be determined by the Pinal County Attorney’s Office, according to police spokesperson Monica Williams. A 52-year-old woman related to Crew resides at the Montserrat Street property, although InMaricopa is withholding her name pending confirmation that she was the shooting victim.
Public records show Crew lives on Hillman Drive in The Lakes at Rancho El Dorado, the same street where a separate shooting incident occurred earlier in the week. Authorities have not established a link between these two events. Additionally, reports indicate that Crew is not connected to a shooting that took place on nearby Nina Street the following night.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing as authorities gather further details.
