Red Light Runner Sparks 3-Car Collision Chaos Last Night
Maricopa authorities reported a three-car collision on North John Wayne Parkway near Honeycutt Road last night, which is believed to have resulted from a driver running a red light. City spokesperson Quinn Konold confirmed the details following the incident that occurred at 8:58 p.m.
Emergency responders, including police and fire crews, arrived promptly at the scene. A white sedan was removed, but two other vehicles remained obstructed on the roadway. The Honda SUV involved suffered significant front-end damage, while the Toyota sedan exhibited damage to the front driver’s side.
Desert Passage resident Abigail Dimas stated that a family member was driving the Honda. She indicated that the driver of the Toyota was responsible for running the red light, leading to the crash. Dimas also noted that her relative was transported to Chandler Regional Medical Center, where they were treated for a concussion.
Despite the severity of the accident, Konold mentioned that there were no reported injuries. The collision had a considerable impact on traffic, blocking both the right-turn lane from Honeycutt onto John Wayne Parkway and two northbound lanes.
