Red Flag Alert: Arizona Faces Threat from Winds and Wildfires

Red flag warning issued for Arizona amid winds and wildfires

A late-season weather system is expected to bring cooler temperatures to Arizona, with highs dropping into the upper 80s by midweek.

According to meteorologists, this system will pass north of the state, bringing increased winds and a noticeable cooling trend. By Wednesday, temperatures in the Valley may not exceed 88 degrees.

While no rain is anticipated, the dip in temperatures provides a temporary reprieve from the heat, keeping highs below 100 degrees for a little while longer.

However, this weather change comes with concerns regarding fire risks. Several wildfires are currently active across Arizona, and a red flag warning remains in effect for much of southern and eastern regions through Tuesday.

The remainder of the week is expected to see dry and seasonably warm conditions, leading to another cool down by the weekend.

Seven-Day Forecast:

  • TUESDAY: 90/74 Breezy, not as hot
  • WEDNESDAY: 88/65 Sunny, slightly cooler
  • THURSDAY: 92/66 Sunny & warmer
  • FRIDAY: 95/68 Seasonably warm
  • SATURDAY: 94/68 Near normal
  • SUNDAY: 88/67 Mainly sunny & breezy
  • MONDAY: 88/66 Mainly sunny
