Record-Breaking Heat Wave Expected Through Monday

PHOENIX — The Valley is bracing for yet another record-breaking day as temperatures soar. Sunday marks the 20th consecutive day of record-high temperatures, with a forecast high of 104 degrees. This surpasses the previous record set in 1989 by three degrees.
In contrast, Flagstaff anticipates a much cooler high of 77 degrees under partly sunny skies. While the High Country will enjoy temperatures in the 70s and 80s, the lower desert regions will largely remain under clear and sunny conditions.
Isolated showers are possible later in the day across the Navajo Nation and White Mountains, although predominantly dry weather will take hold in most areas. The forecast suggests that isolated precipitation might occur in the High Country, Rim Country, and the Navajo Nation during the afternoons.
Relief from the relentless heat is nearly upon us. Starting Tuesday, highs in the Valley are expected to dip into the 90s, with even cooler temperatures predicted for next weekend, potentially reaching the 80s.
Here’s a look at the seven-day forecast:
SUNDAY: 104/75 – Mostly sunny, record temperatures
