Rancho Man Arrested for Chilling Murder Threats: “I Will Break Your Face”

A Rancho El Dorado man has been arrested on serious charges following a violent altercation with a woman at his residence. Jarel Lewis, 34, was taken into custody by the Maricopa Police Department on Wednesday after the woman reported that he was threatening her and causing damage to their home.
The incident reportedly escalated after the woman confronted Lewis for being lazy. According to a probable cause statement, he reacted with violent threats, yelling, “I will break your face.” The confrontation turned physical when Lewis allegedly pushed the woman and broke the chair she was using.
As tensions rose, the woman attempted to escape, but Lewis persisted in following her while reportedly destroying property in the home. Police documents indicate that he threw a coffee table and a trash can during the outburst. When she pleaded with him to stop, Lewis allegedly grabbed her shirt collar.
The situation intensified when Lewis grabbed the woman’s purse, claiming it contained a gun, and declared, “I am ready to die.” Although he made threatening statements, he did not point the weapon at her.
In his statement to law enforcement, Lewis suggested that the altercation was triggered by the woman waking up in a bad mood. He admitted to flipping a table but insisted that he had the right to do so since he had purchased it. He also claimed the woman threatened his life.
Concerned neighbors, hearing the commotion, reportedly stepped outside their homes during the incident. Following their response, Lewis was arrested and subsequently booked into the Pinal County jail, where he could face up to a year in prison.
