Police identify motorcyclist killed in north Phoenix crash


PHOENIX — A tragic accident in north Phoenix resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of 7th Street and Deer Valley Road, prompting an immediate response from the Phoenix Police Department.

Authorities have identified the victim as 34-year-old Braiden Lawson. He was involved in a collision with another vehicle, leading to serious injuries and a subsequent trip to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, Lawson succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Reports indicate that Lawson was traveling westbound on Deer Valley Road at a high rate of speed. He reportedly ran a red light, crashing into a black Chevrolet Malibu that was making a left turn onto eastbound Deer Valley Road. The driver of the Malibu sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
