MARICOPA, AZ — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a pickup truck and a car containing multiple children. The accident occurred at the intersection of Bowlin Road and John Wayne Parkway on February 17, 2025, during peak traffic hours.

Police Chief Mark Goodman of Maricopa identified the driver as Brian Tanner Adams, a resident of Casa Grande, with another address listed in Canyon, Texas. Witnesses reported that Adams’ truck collided with a vehicle carrying two adults and four children, including an infant in a car seat, before he fled the scene.

A heroic bystander on a motorcycle pursued Adams and alerted law enforcement. Police were able to apprehend him on State Route 238 as he attempted to leave Maricopa. Adams has been charged with endangerment, reckless driving, driving under the influence, and failure to stop after an accident. He has been booked into Pinal County Jail.

Court records indicate that Adams has a history of driving-related offenses dating back to 2012. His most recent charge involved DUI in Yuma last month, for which he pleaded not guilty. In addition, he was previously convicted of driving with a suspended license in 2012.

Fortunately, all occupants of the struck vehicle are reported to be in stable condition, according to a family member. The collision took place near the Circle K gas station at approximately 3:30 p.m. Witnesses observed Adams momentarily stop before continuing northbound on John Wayne Parkway.
