Police Hunt for Driver Behind Fatal Hit-and-Run in North Phoenix
PHOENIX — A fatal hit-and-run incident is under investigation by the Phoenix Police Department, following a tragic event that occurred early Sunday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene near 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his early 40s who displayed obvious signs of trauma.
Despite the efforts of fire crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses reported that he was struck by a vehicle which subsequently fled the area.
Investigators believe the victim may have been lying on the roadway prior to being hit, though the circumstances surrounding this remain unclear.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and police are actively searching for the driver responsible.
