Police: Havasu man violated protection order days after domestic assault case

A woman from Lake Havasu City sought help from neighbors last weekend after suffering a reported domestic assault. She requested that they call 911, leading to a swift police response.

On September 21, just before noon, officers arrived at the scene and discovered the victim with visible injuries along with two dogs. She identified 47-year-old Jason E. Jones as her assailant, who had left prior to the police’s arrival. The victim was subsequently transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for medical attention.

The altercation reportedly began following a dispute at their residence. Police state that Jones struck the victim, knocked her down, and continued to assault her. He allegedly attempted to silence her and then stole her phone before fleeing the location.

Three days later, authorities apprehended Jones on Industrial Boulevard. He is accused of breaching an order of protection by contacting the victim, which ultimately led to his arrest. Reports indicate that he resisted police questioning upon their arrival.

Evidence, including screenshots of text messages and a voicemail left by Jones, has been presented to law enforcement. He now faces several charges, ranging from aggravated assault to contempt of court, with his case filed in Lake Havasu Justice Court. A felony indictment is currently pending.
