Police Deploy Grappler to Halt Vehicle on SR 51, One Arrested

PHOENIX — An incident on State Route 51 near Greenway Road led to the closure of the northbound lanes Sunday morning as law enforcement conducted an ongoing investigation.

Police from the Phoenix department reported that “tactical units” were deployed to engage and stop a vehicle involved in the investigation. The maneuver utilized a grappler to successfully halt the car.

According to officials, the only occupant of the vehicle was detained, though further specifics of the incident have not yet been disclosed.
