Police Chase Ends in Arrest of One Kid, Second Fugitive Still Evades Capture
In a recent incident in Desert Passage, Maricopa police pursued a driver of a stolen vehicle who successfully fled on foot, evading capture as the search continues.
The vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, was stopped after Flock cameras detected it as stolen while operating within city limits. The pursuit unfolded at the entrance to Desert Passage, located at Bowlin Road and Smith Farms Circle.
According to Assistant Maricopa City Manager Jennifer Brown, both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot upon being pulled over. “The suspects did cut through some residential backyards while fleeing from police,” she noted.
While the investigation remains active, authorities reported no injuries during the incident. Local resident Samantha Rhone witnessed the police operation, describing the scene as six officers with spotlights searching for the suspects.
Another Desert Passage resident, Elizabeth Fuentes, shared on Facebook that officers visited her home to check her backyard in connection to their ongoing search for the suspect. Community vigilance remains critical as police continue to gather information.
