Police Arrest Homeless Man for Lamborghini Smasher and Havasu Home Ransacking Spree

A complex situation unfolded involving a homeless man who moved into an upscale home in Lake Havasu City, leading to significant property damage and legal repercussions. Adam G. Canchola, 25, found temporary refuge after he was taken in by a local resident earlier this year.
Canchola’s backstory includes claims of parental abuse, though the veracity of these statements remains unverified. His initial stay in the luxury neighborhood, known for its stunning views and multimillion-dollar homes, seemed like a fresh start.
Despite his sister securing employment and moving out in June, Canchola failed to establish stability. Tensions escalated when the homeowner accused him of theft and demanded that he vacate the premises by August 3.
After allowing Canchola to use an off-highway vehicle while searching for new housing, the situation soured. Law enforcement cited Canchola for speeding soon after, prompting the homeowner to revoke further access to his vehicles.
On the evening of August 5, while the homeowner dined out, reports surfaced that Canchola was vandalizing property. Upon returning home, the homeowner discovered extensive damage to both a 2023 Lamborghini and a 2020 McLaren. The Lamborghini suffered a smashed windshield and windows, while the McLaren’s damage was more severe, with an estimated repair cost of at least $33,000 for its windshield alone.
The homeowner quickly realized that his recreational vehicle had also gone missing. Shortly after, Canchola returned the vehicle but denied knowledge of the surrounding destruction. The victim promptly alerted authorities.
When police arrived, Canchola attempted to evade identification and was captured shortly thereafter. A search of the residence revealed widespread chaos, including scattered food and broken furnishings. Reports described significant disturbances, including a shattered window and damaged televisions throughout the home.
Notably, a piece of toilet paper found in the dining area raised concerns about cleanliness, indicating a chaotic scene. The comprehensive damage led officers to request assistance from a crime scene technician for documentation.
During questioning, Canchola admitted to causing the damage. He is currently facing felony charges for criminal damage to property and unlawful use of a means of transportation, along with a misdemeanor for failing to identify himself.
As of now, he remains in custody at the Mohave County Jail on a $10,000 bond, with an arraignment scheduled for Monday in Mohave Superior Court.
