PlayStation Network Outage: Everything You Need to Know Now

SAN FRANCISCO — Gamers faced significant disruptions on Friday evening, struggling to access various features on their PlayStation consoles after returning home from work or school.
At approximately 6 p.m. ET, reports of the outage surged, with nearly 70,000 incidents logged on Downdetector. Users encountered difficulties accessing their online friends list, account management, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, and even gaming functionalities.
According to Sony’s PlayStation Network page, the issues began around 7 p.m. ET. Although the company remains tight-lipped regarding specifics, they stated they are “working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.” Various platforms including PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and the web are affected.
Gamers utilizing these consoles might see an error code, “PlayStation Network is currently undergoing maintenance (WS-37432-9),” appearing on their screens. Unfortunately, the only recourse for users is to dismiss the message or check the PlayStation website for support.
As of now, no further updates have been provided by Sony regarding the situation or an estimated time for resolution.
