Pima Community College Governing Board Selects Nasse as New Chancellor

Dr. Jeffrey P. Nasse has been appointed as the new chancellor of Pima Community College (PCC). His salary will be $350,000.
The PCC Governing Board selected Nasse, who previously held the positions of provost and senior vice president of academic affairs and college operations at Broward College, Fort Lauderdale.
Nasse brings over two decades of experience in collegiate teaching and administration. His roles at Broward College included senior associate vice president of academic affairs, dean of the education pathway, and dean of academic resources and writing programs. He also served as an associate professor of English and held adjunct positions at Florida Atlantic University, Central Maine Community College, and East Carolina University.
Known for his ability to form effective teams, Nasse has significantly contributed to student success in programs like computer science, health science, and education. He has been instrumental in scaling accelerated online and flexible learning modalities and improving graduation rates.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to join the Pima Community College family,” Nasse stated. “This institution holds such an essential place in the Tucson community, and I accept this role with great pride and a tremendous sense of responsibility.”
Nasse emphasized the transformational potential of education for the community. “As I step into the position of chancellor, I am mindful of the great work done before me. Leadership is about serving and uplifting each other. I look forward to working collaboratively with our board, faculty, staff, and community partners to support student success.”
His selection followed a national search led by Anthem Executive and a 20-member chancellor’s search advisory committee. Nasse participated in on-campus meetings and a public forum during the selection process.
“The governing board is proud to announce the selection of our new chancellor, Dr. Jeffrey Nasse,” said Theresa Riel, governing board chair. “Dr. Nasse brings a wealth of expertise and a profound commitment to advancing PCC to new heights of excellence.”
Riel added, “As we embark on this exciting journey together, let us extend our warmest welcome to Jeffrey Nasse. His arrival marks a significant milestone. We look forward to working under his guidance to continue our tradition of academic distinction and community engagement.”
Nasse, a Marine Corps veteran, earned his Bachelor of Science in communication and Master of Arts in English from East Carolina University. He completed his Ph.D. in educational leadership and research methodology at Florida Atlantic University in 2013.
Nasse is expected to start on August 5.
