Phoenix Officer Receives Heroic Recognition for Rescuing Baby

PHOENIX — Officer Tyler Luna of the Phoenix Police Department has been commended for his quick response that saved an infant’s life on December 8, 2023. The call reported a baby who was unresponsive and not breathing.
Upon arrival, Officer Luna wasted no time, employing CPR techniques to clear the baby’s airway. His actions, captured on body camera footage, were later shared by the police department on social media, showcasing the urgency and effectiveness of his response.
In recognition of his life-saving efforts, Officer Luna received the Medal of Lifesaving at the police department’s Annual Awards Ceremony in April. His quick thinking and professionalism highlight the importance of timely intervention in critical situations.
