Phoenix Man’s Sentence Extended for Death Threats Against Judge in Child Pornography Trial
A Phoenix resident has received an additional 51 months in prison for threatening a federal judge and his family. Clinton M. Lewis, 52, made the threats during his sentencing for child pornography charges.
In July 2022, during a court hearing, Lewis directed racial slurs and death threats towards the judge, including threats to the judge’s grandchildren. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of Arizona confirmed that Lewis had pleaded guilty to retaliating against a federal official.
The outburst led to Lewis being removed from the courtroom. His new 51-month sentence for the threats will be served consecutively with the 151 months he received for the initial child pornography charges.
