Phoenix Flight Attendant Tragically Passes Away During Denver Layover

PHOENIX — Tragedy struck the aviation community when Celinda Levno, a dedicated flight attendant based in Phoenix, passed away during a layover in Denver. The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) confirmed the news in an official release on Sunday, labeling the incident a “senseless tragedy.”
American Airlines acknowledged Levno’s death and indicated that the police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding it. In response to her passing, the APFA announced that flight crews staying in Denver would be temporarily moved to a hotel near the airport for safety reasons. Notably, Levno’s death did not occur at the hotel where crews were assigned.
Levno’s career began in 1989 with America West Airlines, and she was well-regarded for her dedication to her job and passion for life. The APFA statement highlighted her love for her horses, friends, and family, emphasizing how she will be remembered by those who knew her.
In a formal response, American Airlines expressed deep sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague.” The airline affirmed its commitment to assist law enforcement as the investigation proceeds and extended support to Levno’s family and colleagues.
The Denver Police Department has been contacted for additional information regarding the investigation into Levno’s death. As the story continues to develop, further details will be provided as they become available.
