Phoenix Children's Hospital and Blue Cross reach agreement

PHOENIX — Blue Cross Blue Shield has announced a new agreement with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, ending weeks of uncertainty for pediatric patients previously caught in a coverage dispute.

As a result of the deal, patients can once again access in-network care starting Saturday, according to a statement from Blue Cross. The negotiations, initiated by Blue Cross in late December, lasted for five weeks.

The announcement reassured families that the dedicated medical teams at Phoenix Children’s will continue to provide quality care for members of AZ Blue. Additionally, patients who had to submit claims as out-of-network during the negotiation can now seek reimbursement.

Blue Cross urged its members to register or log into their AZ Blue member portal for updates. This agreement marks a significant resolution for families relying on pediatric services at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

This is a developing story. Further details will be provided as they become available.
