Phoenix and Valley Bracing for a Scorching 100 Degrees This Week: Find Out When!

Spring has officially arrived, and with it comes an unexpected spike in temperatures across the Valley of the Sun. This week, particularly on Monday and Tuesday, forecasts predict temperatures surging into the triple digits.
Currently, meteorological reports indicate that Phoenix’s temperatures could reach levels significantly above the seasonal average, which typically hovers around the low 80s for late March. “The average date for the first 90-degree day is around now, but we are anticipating highs between 95 to 99 degrees this week,” explained 12News meteorologist Chris Dunn.
This notable shift in temperatures is attributed to a powerful high-pressure ridge settling over the southwestern United States. If Phoenix hits a high of 100° on Tuesday, it would break the record for the earliest occurrence of such heat, a title previously held by March 26, 1988.
Health officials caution residents and visitors alike, especially those susceptible to heat-related illnesses, to stay indoors during peak heat hours. Dunn warns, “The dry heat, especially this early in the year, can be deceptive. Hydrate thoroughly to avoid unexpected dehydration.”
With this unseasonably warm weather, residents are advised to remain vigilant as temperatures rise. Early assessments suggest a challenging week ahead for those unaccustomed to March heat.
