Pfaadt’s Stellar Performance Leads Diamondbacks to 9-5 Triumph Over Struggling Dodgers

LOS ANGELES — In a commanding performance, Brandon Pfaadt led the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 9-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. Pfaadt became the first pitcher in the majors to reach seven wins this season, improving his record to 7-3.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Gabriel Moreno, and Geraldo Perdomo each contributed significantly, hitting two-run homers that pushed the Diamondbacks to a commanding 7-0 lead by the third inning. The Dodgers, struggling after a recent sweep by the Los Angeles Angels, faced their fourth consecutive home loss, a feat unseen since May 2018.
Fans were visibly frustrated when Landon Knack surrendered the home runs to Gurriel and Moreno. Earlier in the game, Dodgers opener Jack Dreyer allowed Arizona to establish an early lead, with RBIs from Eugenio Suárez and Josh Naylor.
Despite a shaky sixth inning where Pfaadt allowed solo home runs from Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, he walked only one hitter and maintained control throughout his six-inning outing. Shelby Miller secured the win by recording the final out for his fifth save.
This game marked a notable moment, as it was the first occasion the Dodgers homered back-to-back since the World Series against the New York Yankees last October.
Looking ahead, the Diamondbacks will send RHP Ryne Nelson to the mound for his second start against Dodgers RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
