Peoria police investigating series of massage parlor break-ins

PEORIA, Ariz. — Peoria police are investigating a series of overnight break-ins targeting four local massage parlors. The incidents occurred between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, raising concerns within the community.

All break-ins displayed a similar modus operandi. According to Peoria police Public Information Officer Kristopher Babros, the suspect gained entry by removing windowpanes. “It’s clear they are attacking these businesses in a methodical manner,” Babros noted.

The first break-in was reported near 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road, prompted by a nearby resident who alerted authorities. Following that, reports of a second break-in emerged at 89th and Olive Avenues. Each time, the suspect breached the businesses while employees were inside, but specifics regarding the stolen items remain undisclosed.

Recognizing a pattern, police increased their surveillance efforts in the area. “Our officers were proactive, noticing a trend unfolding,” Babros said, noting that they rushed to a body spa located near 91st and Peoria Avenues, only to discover that the suspect had already escaped.

The string of thefts culminated at a massage parlor near 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Investigators reported varying methods of entry; some windows were shattered while others had glass removed cleanly.

Babros suggested the suspect may have undergone specific training, as evidenced by the precision needed to extract window glass without leaving significant traces. He confirmed that all break-ins are interconnected, although the motive remains unclear. “We are gathering evidence and examining all leads,” he stated. Forensic personnel are also assisting by collecting fingerprints and DNA from the crime scenes.

Authorities urge anyone with potential information on these incidents to reach out to Peoria police, as the investigation continues.
