PCC Men’s Cross Country Secures Impressive 3rd Place at ACCAC Championship
The Pima Community College men’s cross country team achieved a commendable third place at the ACCAC Conference Championships held on Friday. The meet took place at Glendale Heroes Regional Park, where the Aztecs scored 59 points, trailing behind Central Arizona College, which clinched first with just 15 points, and the College of Southern Nevada, which secured second with 38 points.
Sophomore Evan Rasoumoff led the way for Pima, finishing seventh in the competitive 8K race with a time of 27 minutes and 42.0 seconds. Following him, sophomore Louis Madrigal-Diaz placed 11th, clocking in at 28:19, while freshman Noah Brunet was close behind in 12th at 28:31.
Also contributing to the team’s success, sophomore Zack Comaduran crossed the finish line in 13th with a time of 29:04, and freshman Marco Hernandez finished 16th, recording a time of 31:40. Their impressive performances earned Rasoumoff, Madrigal-Diaz, Brunet, and Comaduran All-ACCAC honors for finishing in the top 15.
Looking ahead, the Aztecs are set to compete in the Vaquero CAMPY races on Saturday, October 5. This upcoming event will take place at Central Arizona College, with the first race scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
