Paraglider Saves the Day: Dramatic Rescue Following Collision with Power Pole in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A paraglider was rescued Sunday morning after crashing into a power pole at North Mountain, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of 7th Street and Thunderbird Road.
Fire crews found the man, who had become stuck on a power line after hitting the pole. He managed to extricate himself from his harness and was sitting on a rock when help arrived.
Rescue teams successfully assisted him down from the rock and guided him back down the mountain. Fortunately, the paraglider sustained no injuries and declined hospital treatment.
