Overnight Closure Alert: McCulloch Boulevard to Shut Down This Tuesday
Lake Havasu City is set to implement another overnight closure as part of its ongoing waterline improvement efforts. The latest disruption will affect McCulloch Boulevard, with work scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 27, at 7:00 p.m. The closure will extend from Capri Lane to Smoketree Avenue, reopening the following day at 3:00 a.m.
City officials aim to minimize disruption to local businesses and motorists by scheduling construction during nighttime hours. Detours will be available at Mesquite and Swanson for those navigating the area. Drivers are advised to proceed with caution, especially through construction zones where visibility may be limited.
This effort marks the latest in a series of infrastructure enhancements by Lake Havasu City, which recently completed repaving and sealing on multiple major roadways. The city council has also approved the first phase of the 2024 Water Main Replacement Project, targeting 17 streets with aging water mains, some of which are nearly 40 years old.
According to Capital Program Manager Jason Hart, these areas have experienced multiple breaks, necessitating urgent replacements. The initial phase is projected to take five months, concluding by February 2025. Following this phase, two more are planned, with work expected to continue through 2029.
